Thanks to Elliot Lum for bringing together Asian American marketers to be in authentic community at the end of last week. Our host Helen Lin at Publicis Groupe and the planning committee of Amy Hills, Inhwa Lee, Oshiya Savur, Rachel Chan, and Raman Sehgal organized a day summit that was rich in content and connections. It was fun to catch up with colleagues like Nicole Tay, MPH and be in conversation with all the breakout facilitators, panel moderators, and speakers like Jinal Shah, Rudi Anggono, Vincent Bahk, Amrita D., Chris Schmicker, Vanessa Huynh, Yin Woon Rani, Surabhi Pokhriyal, Lisa Lee, Priya Doty, Clara Luo, and Katy Lee. Last but not least, thank you to Julie Lee, Matt Williams, and Lisa Angulo Reid for the tasty food and fun gifts that sparked even more discussion. Proud of of the leadership, staff, and volunteers at Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) who have demonstratively made progress towards ending impaired driving. Glad to be a resource as a national board member.

With the upcoming long weekend of July 4th in the United States, I have some friends who are already heading towards the airport. I'm going to enjoy summer in NYC with a "staycation." I appreciate a New York that is a little quieter and slower. I also prefer to avoid the crowds of peak travel times. And, I sometimes find that going on a trip can be more depleting than restful. What are your plans for the holiday ahead? Why are you choosing to either travel or remain at home?

Working in startups/web3, I appreciate the flexibility of remote work that reduces the need for a daily commute. And, collaborating with decentralized teams means that I interact with colleagues around the world, sometimes taking late night calls with Asia (like I'm doing tonight). What is one benefit and one challenge that you've experienced with remote work (whether you work remotely yourself or interact with people who do)?

As a national board member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), I went to DC last week to advocate for the implementation of the HALT Act (saving 10000 lives by passively utilizing existing car technology to decrease drunk driving). Along with MADD leadership and ambassadors, I met with staff of New York's congressional officials like Representative Daniel Goldman, Senator Kristen Gillibrand, and Senator Chuck Schumer. Thank you to their offices for receiving our asks of how they can help MADD to end drunk and impaired driving. #MADDHillDay #HALTAct #NoMoreVictims
