Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are teaming up to executive produce and co-star in Lionsgate psychological thriller The Housemaid.

The movie marks the first time the 27-year-old Euphoria bombshell and the 38-year-old Mean Girls bombshell have worked together, but they definitely hung out during the Met Gala festivities on May 6.

Amanda - who will play wealthy married mother-of-one Nina Winchester - announced in an Instagram video on Tuesday: 'I just want to let you know that The Housemaid by Freida McFadden is coming to the big screen. Stay tuned.'

Sydney - who will play the mysterious housemaid Millie - posted an Instagram video of herself looking shocked at a copy of the 2022 New York Timesbestseller as M83's 2016 song Solitude bellowed in the background.

One glance at the Instagram comments showed a lot of support for Seyfried as Nina and, in general, there was overall positive reaction.

But the reaction to Sweeney as Millie was definitely mixed with some outright questioning her acting abilities.

Some readers thought Victoria Pendretti would have made a better Millie while others suggested actors like Joe Manganiello, Simone Susinna, and Michele Morrone for the role of Enzo.

On Tuesday, director Paul Feig posted a TikTok video of himself enjoying a martini with a copy of The Housemaid as he announced: 'Coming soon!'

'It's happening,' the 62-year-old filmmaker captioned hisInstagram post.

'So excited to bring this great book by @fmcfaddenauthor to life on the big screen with @sydney_sweeney and @mingey and my pals at @lionsgate and @hiddenpicturesmedia. Millie is on her way.'

Freida - who also happens to be a practicing physician specializing in brain injury - is 'so excited' about the big-screen adaptation of her work, in which 'secrets never stay buried.'

'@Lionsgate has come up with the absolute perfect cast and director, and I am just so grateful!' McFadden gushed on Instagram Tuesday.

'I mean, Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, and Paul Feig… mind blown! I'm so honored and thankful to all my readers who helped make this dream come true!'

Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Vampire Diaries, The Boys, and Archive 81) was hired to adapt the screenplay to the silver screen - according to Deadline.

In the 336-page addictive novel with a jaw-dropping twist, Millie lusts after Nina's 'broken, handsome' husband Andrew Winchester while caring for their daughter and living in their attic (which ominously only locks from the outside).

'I only try on one of Nina's pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it's like. But she soon finds out… and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it's far too late,' the book logline reads.

'But I reassure myself: the Winchesters don't know who I really am. They don't know what I'm capable of…'

Sydney's other upcoming projects include David Michôd's biopic on professional boxer Christy Martin, Apple TV+ horse farm thriller Echo Valley, Amazon Prime Video's survival thriller Eden, and the long-delayed third season of Max's Euphoria (shooting in January).

Amanda's other upcoming projects include Vertical Entertainment horror-comedy I Don't Understand You, Peacock limited series Long Bright River about the opioid crisis, and Sony gal pal comedy My Ex-Friend's Wedding.
